Last Day In L.A.

Today was my last day in L.A.  And what a full day it has been!  I began my day early with spiritual practices, including 2 mantras from Tapasyogi Nandi.  Today began a 40 day dedication with these mantras as well as the other practices I am working on.

Across the street from Dave's flat is a park with a man-made lake that has a tall geyser in the center. I've been trying to get good photos of the park/lake during both times I've been in L.A. and can never seem to do Echo Park justice.Upon leaving the flat around noon, there was a brilliant rainbow in the fountain.  I found this to be especially auspicious as I

Creator and Destroyer of All things
 ॐ  Aum namah Sivaya ॐ
Flood my body, mind, and soul with the rainbow colored Light of Love, Wisdom, and Truth.

My L.A. host, Dave, was concerned about me hitchhiking so today he bought me a greyhound ticket to my next stop near San Luis Obispo.  As part of my seva (service) I spent 3 hours working at the Bicycle Kitchen under the guidance of JawKnee (below right).  I got to work here the previous time first time in L.A. and regretted not taking a picture of Jawknee as he is such a fascinating human being.
Best picture ever!!!
After my seva, Dave graciously escorted me to a class by Govindas at Bhakti Yoga Shala.  I love, love, love Gonvindas and Radha's teaching style which incorporates kirtan into vinyasa.  This is the future of western yoga.  Or, shall I say, this is where I'd personally like to see American yoga culture grow.
In the brief interactions with Govindas, the sincerity and genuine wish for the well-being of all around him exudes in an intoxicating flow of unconditional love.  It's just amazing.  What an excellent demonstration of what we all should strive for in how we treat and care for ourselves and others.
Thank you, Govindas!

After Govindas, Dave and I attended a small gathering at the Art Of Living Foundation... it was very nice and peaceful, with chanting at the end.  Good medicine.

Love Is All.
