Tonight is my last night in Riverside with Matt and Lauren, two fellow entheogenists from the Peyote Way Church. L & M are officially the Utopian couple of the century {according to me}. They have what every couple searches for, true harmony and peace with each other. Both are very self aware and concerned with how the other is doing. Matt's wisdom with how to interact with his wife is genuine and caring - he expresses a lack of interest in being "right", because if Lauren isn't happy with it then that isn't right either.
Overall, Lauren and Matt are very well rounded. Both are grad students at UCR, teach on the side, have excellent taste, a classy home, and are adventurous. These two should be the ones writing books on how to succeed in life and love, because they have it down!

It's been a bit of a recovery period for me. Yesterday was mostly just relaxing. Today I actually got out of the apartment and went on an adventure to the Botanical Gardens at University of California Riverside.

I can't help but think of Mr. Reed and his flower photos. Each one has a name. What would Reed name this rose if he were to photograph it? |
Got my new sleeping bag. Shipped it to Matt and Lauren's at the last minute when I was in Tempe. Got it on Overstock.com for about $40. It's a featherlite 20 degree bag. So glad I looked on overstock for this. There is no way I would have been able to afford it otherwise. Haven't tested it in cold weather yet but it feels good. Tried it out and woke up in a sweat. Hoping to get to know it well so I know how much clothes to wear to avoid sweating by the time I get up North.
Experienced a momentary home-sickness today... but not for the life I left behind. In contemplating the amazing dynamic of Matt and Lauren, there was a feeling toward that idealistic life I always wanted to have, the ideal that we all wish for with others: Harmony
Peace and blessings to you, beautiful friends. May harmony come into our living experiences, more and more every day. In every place, in every circumstance... prayers for Harmony in abundance.

I'd like your friends to write that book also! I wanna learn to "do it better".
ReplyDeleteHarmony on my mind
ReplyDeleteI blushed more than a bit reading some of those comments :) Lauren and I will write that book after we have a few more years of "research" done, after we've become aware of the things that allow the dynamic to work as it does.

Looking forward to reading that book and applying your keys to success! The honeymoon seems to be a significant aspect - stretching it out and letting things unfold so there is bonding over a period of time rather than all at once. That is so ingenious!
ReplyDeleteI love the Riverside gardens, seeing your pictures makes me a little home sick (I'm from around there). I hope you enjoyed your visit there, and I hope the gardens were as beautiful as I remember them. -Brenda
ReplyDeletei'm so glad to hear you are safe and doing well. how far north are you going?
