Tierra Nueva is a place full of beauty... walking around the co-housing community, one is ever met with trees, flowers, some of which is edible with a strong potential toward a Gardens-Not-Lawns effort.
Tierra Nueva is in Oceano, in the San Luis Obispo area. Although the region is predominantly upper-middle class area, these beautiful people embrace a lifestyle of eco-consciousness and moderation. This laundry dryer is outside of the common house where many choose to do their laundry rather than have a laundry unit in their home. They also have a compost going for their organic gardening.
Everyone has their own unique, artistic style. Classy, yet down to earth and homey. This person's front step includes a little citrus tree (behind the pink blossoms).
Beautiful flowers and plants grow everywhere, when I walked into the community for the first time it just blew my mind to see things like this growing all over the place.
Lazy cats can be found lounging at just about every turn in the path.

one of the things that shocked me the most about the world outside of the desert is how crazy it is to see stuff just growing everywhere. it's truly amazing to see.
